Autumn Flowers with Polly Nicholson and Ellie Jauncy
Friday 2nd October 10 00 – 12 30
Blackland House, Calne, Wiltshire, SN11 8UQ
£135 to include homemade cake and tea/coffee, flowers and a pleasing vessel to arrange them in. Numbers limited to 4 participants.
Join us for a morning to celebrate the flowers, seedheads and leaves of autumn in the bucolic surroundings of Blackland House, home to Bayntun Flowers. Expert flower grower Polly Nicholson and renowned florist Ellie Jauncey (co-founder of the Flower Appreciation Society) look forward to sharing their knowledge with a small group of flower lovers.
The class will begin with an introduction from Polly and a guided walk around the private walled gardens and cutting field. You will be encouraged to choose and cut your own bucket of flowers and foliage, and to ask Polly as many questions about organic growing as you can – we hold no secrets here.
Back in the outdoor studio Ellie will demonstrate how to arrange in her loose, romantic and garden gathered style. Using floral foam free techniques you will be shown how to select the most beautiful and suitable flowers and foliage to create an arrangement which is yours to take home.
We will provide secateurs and buckets for you to use, please bring your own gloves if needed, and a box to take your arrangement safely home in. Wet weather wear and boots are recommended.
Please follow social distancing guidelines when on site and use the hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities provided. All tools will be sanitised.
In case of cancellation due to Covid lockdown we will offer a full refund.
